Can you own your own organic farm without spending your days knee deep in mud?
The very rich can indulge their organic farming dreams by buying a large property and installing a skilled manager to look after it. Unfortunately the majority are not so lucky and find their desire to eat quality food produced on their own organic farm shattered by thoughts of a large reduction in earnings, poor return on investment, worries about the knowledge gap resulting in ruinously bad harvests or - most likely - a combination of all three.
With the organic food sector in the UK worth £1.9bn (having grown at over 10% per year for the past decade) and only just over half this produce grown in the UK there hasn’t been a better time to invest in this sector. However, short of buying a farm (with all the associated problems that brings) there aren’t currently any direct portals for such an investment.
